Another trip this summer’s come and gone,
And new memories abound like always.
Ludington’s been a family tradition
Marked by buffets, subs, flavorful ice cream,
All walked off along the beaches and trails.
This time, we added a few other things.
Namely, sitting in big chairs at sunset,
Watching scurrying gulls scramble for snacks,
Taking turns in the hotel’s massage chair,
And enjoying overcrowded hot tubs
As kids dive in front of “No Diving” signs.
Three guests have marked this trip in my own time,
And I wonder when more would come along.
What kind of memories could be made then,
When these trips become mine to shape for them?
