A different place, a different kind of life
Seen as the car cruises on the highway
And glances at homes hidden among trees.
I’ve lost my key connection to the world
In this distant and wild northern place
Which quite a few people somehow call home.
So many things I believe important
Seem to be rare, missing, or absent here,
Making me glad I’m just here to visit.
All of the people who live in this place
Seem to believe different things important
To live in a place so different from mine,
And thinking on that leads me to wonder
If all of the things which I call important
Are really that important after all.
